PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

2015 (D.C. United): In his lone season with D.C. United, Farfan made seven starts in 17 appearances in midfield. He registered an assist in a 2-1 win at Vancouver on April 25.

2014 (Cruz Azul): After being transferred to Cruz Azul on December 13, Farfan appeared in one contest for the Liga MX side, tallying the game-tying score in second-half stoppage time against Pachuca on April 12.

2013 (Philadelphia Union): Farfan made 29 appearances, including 22 starts, in his final campaign with the Union. He scored the game-winning goal against Chivas USA in the 82nd minute of a 3-1 victory on July 12. Farfan recorded an assist in the fifth minute of a 5-3 loss to Montreal on May 25.

2012 (Philadelphia Union): In his most prolific professional season to date, Farfan logged a career-high 2,802 minutes in 32 matches. He led the club five assists during the 2012 campaign, including two assists in a 3-0 win against Toronto on July 8. Farfan scored the game-winning goal in the club’s first-ever road win against the LA Galaxy on July 4. As an MLS All-Star selection, Farfan entered the exhibition game as a reserve for David Beckham against Chelsea at PPL Park.

2011 (Philadelphia Union):As a rookie, Farfan finished third in MLS Rookie of the Year voting after recording two goals and four assists in his first professional campaign. He scored his first career goal in a 2-1 loss to Chicago on May 21. Farfan also tallied the game-winning goal in the 57th minute of a 3-2 win against D.C. United on September 29. The midfielder scored the Union’s lone goal in a 2-1 exhibition loss to Real Madrid on July 23. Farfan appeared in two postseason matches, in which he tallied one assist.

COLLEGE

In two years at Cal State Fullerton, Farfan was a two-time First Team All-Big West selection. As a freshman, Farfan scored five goals and added four assists en route to earning conference Freshman of the Year and Freshman All-America honors. In his sophomore campaign, Farfan registered three goals and three assists for the Titans. Prior to his junior season, Farfan transferred to the University of North Carolina. The All-ACC First Team and NSCAA First Team All-America recipient finished the year with five goals and four assists. As a senior for the Tar Heels, Farfan was a MAC Hermann Trophy semifinalist and earned various First Team All-American honors. In 19 games, the midfielder scored five goals and added three assists.

INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE

While training with the U.S. Under-17 National Team, Farfan attended Edison Academy in Bradenton, Florida. He played in the 2005 U-17 Youth World Cup for the Stars and Stripes.

His brother, Gabriel, is a professional soccer player for Chiapas in Liga MX.
