Nick Hinds

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

2018 (S2): Scored his first professional goal, the game-winner, against Portland Timbers 2 (March 16) in the opening match of the season. Was selected to the USL Team of the Week after scoring the winning goal against Portland (March 16). He also pitched in with two assists on the season. While the majority of his starts came in a wide midfield role, Hinds managed over 10 starts at left back, a role he played while in the Academy and with U.S. Youth National Teams.

2016 (S2): Played in seven games for S2, making three starts.

2015 (S2): Appeared in one game for S2.

COLLEGE EXPERIENCE

Hinds spent two seasons at one of college soccer’s most storied programs, the University of Akron. After locking down the starting left back spot as a freshman, he was moved into an attacking midfield role later in the season. In his sophomore year, the Sounders Academy alum again played primarily as a midfielder. Hinds started 30 matches across two seasons with the Zips and made a further 14 appearances a substitute, recording 11 goals and eight assists.

INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE

Hinds has been a fixture of U.S. Youth National Teams across all age groups. He received his first international call-up for a U-15 Boys National Team Camp, and the defender went on to feature for each subsequent age group. While in the Sounders Academy, Hinds was regularly called in for both domestic camps and international camps for the United States at the U-18, U-19 and U-20 levels.

YOUTH EXPERIENCE

Hinds spent his U-18 season as a member of the Sounders Academy, where he trained regularly with both S2 and the first team.
