Seyi Adekoya

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

2017 (Seattle): After signing as a Homegrown Player prior to the season, Adekoya made two MLS regular season appearances, including a start in a 3-0 loss at Columbus Crew SC (May 31). The UCLA product also played in 13 USL matches for S2, including six starts. He scored his first professional goal with a game-winner as a substitute in S2’s 2-1 win over Portland Timbers 2 (April 2).

COLLEGE EXPERIENCE

A three-year contributor at UCLA, Adekoya made 55 appearances for the Bruins, including 37 starts, from 2014-2016. After scoring five goals as a freshman, Adekoya scored a team-high 12 goals in his sophomore campaign. In his third and final year, the forward netted three goals for a career total of 20 goals and eight assists. A two-time Second Team All-Pac 12 selection, Adekoya also earned First Team conference honors in his sophomore campaign. As a freshman, he also earned second team Soccer America All-Freshman honors.

PERSONAL

The son of Stephan and Marthy, his full name is Adeseyi Shinobu Adeyinka Adekoya. Adekoya has two sisters, Adesewa and Adelara, and one brother, Adegboyega.
