Major League Soccer on Thursday named Seattle Sounders forward Raúl Ruidíaz to the Week 21 Team of the Week for his one-goal, one-assist effort in a 2-0 win over the Vancouver Whitecaps on Tuesday.
Ruidíaz returned to the starting lineup in a massive way following a four-match absence while away with Peru for CONMEBOL FIFA World Cup qualifying. He scored the opener on a beautiful one-timed finish off a cross from Nouhou before beating his man to the end line and setting up Nicolás Lodeiro to double the Sounders’ advantage.

The tally was Ruidíaz’s 10th of the season, which is tied for third in the league. He and the Sounders, who clinched their 12th consecutive MLS Cup Playoffs berth, return to action on Sunday at the Colorado Rapids (6 p.m. PT; JOEtv, Prime Video, 1090 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM).
