Major League Soccer on Wednesday named Seattle Sounders forward Raúl Ruidíaz to the Team of the Week for Week 12 following his game-winning goal on the road against the Houston Dynamo on Wednesday. Additionally, center back Yeimar earned a spot on the TOTW bench.
After scoring his first goal of the 2022 MLS regular season in the club's 3-1 win over Minnesota United on Sunday, Ruidíaz maintained his rich vein of form with another decisive goal against the Dynamo. It marked the first time all season that the Sounders have won back-to-back league matches. The Peruvian striker now has five goals and one assist from nine starts across all competitions this year.
Yeimar, who missed about a month with a high ankle sprain, put in another excellent shift at the back against Houston. The Colombian defender posted two tackles, two blocks, five clearances, five aerial duels won, three interceptions and three recoveries as the Sounders tallied their first shutout of the 2022 MLS regular season.
